About Tayside Orienteers

Tayside Orienteers seeks to encourage and promote the sport of orienteering in and around the Tayside area, including Perthshire and Kinross, Angus and the City of Dundee.

We were founded as Perth Orienteers in 1987 by Steve Hale (Honorary Club President, and one of the UK's most successful male orienteers ever)

In December of 1999 the club changed its name to Tayside Orienteers, TAY for short, in order to more accurately portray the area of Scotland it serves.

The club has grown from a handful of people to over 80 members, and is affiliated to the Scottish Orienteering Association (SOA) and British Orienteering Federation (BOF).

We hold events on a regular basis throughout the year. Check the fixture list to see what's coming up.

Our club honours include: Scottish Inter-Club Champions (small clubs) 1999; Compass Sport Trophy (UK inter-club cup) Finalists 2006, 2008, 2012; Scottish Inter-club 8 person Relay Champions 2011

The Club has stocks of maps for a number of areas in Perthshire, Angus and Dundee, from small areas of parkland to large areas of technically detailed forest and moorland. Find out more about our mapped areas.

Club colours are yellow, purple and white: they feature on the club orienteering top which is worn by members at events all over the country. Contact us if you would like to purchase a Tayside Orienteers orienteering kit.

Safeguarding - The club has and adheres to a child and vulnerable adult safeguading policy - see club info section.
