Scottish Orienteering CPD Day

Following April's session the next in the SOA's Creative Coach sessions will be held at South Creag Vinean, near Dunkeld on Saturday 3 September.

Block of four coaching sessions for club members

We are delighted to announce the dates for our next block of coaching sessions, starting Saturday 20 August. These dates have been chosen specifically to fit around TAY and SOA orienteering events.

  

Lovely contours!

Coaching session focuses on contours

Sunday's coaching session at Dalguise (session #3 in a four-session block) was well-received. We focused on contours and included a novel tattie contour competition this week and finished with a "place and chase" exercise - which required very close attention to the map!

Four-week block of coaching

Weekend sessions for Improvers!

Some exciting news to start off our club orienteering in 2016! Following our successful Family Coaching sessions last Autumn, we have been busy planning more coaching for TAY members.  We now have dates for a four-week block - Saturday 19 March, Saturday 16 April, Sunday 1 May and Saturday 7 May.

  

Coaching Foundation Courses

February and April, near Perth

The Scottish Orienteering Association's one-day Coaching Foundation course is for experienced orienteers who are members an SOA club. The course will be running near Perth on Sat 13 Feb and Sat 2 April - very handy for any TAY members who are interested in taking their first steps into coaching. If places are available, qualified coaches may attend this course as a refresher. Further details on the SOA website here

  

Coaching Foundation courses in the New Year

Some great courses coming up in the New Year c/o the Scottish Orienteering Association, including a one day Coaching Foundation course. Ideal if you want to find out if coaching is for you and you want to start helping out alongside licensed coaches but also great for improving your own skills! Courses will take place on 13 February and 2 April. Club members who've been on the course would be happy to talk to you about their experience. Free to members.
