All bodies of water on the map, the river and the lade, are ISSprOM 301 (Uncrossable body of water) and are ‘forbidden to cross
The area of Macrosty park and surrounding Turretbank estate and woods are out of bounds to competitors from dawn on the day of the event until competitors have finished their second race. This area will not be taped as ‘out of bounds’ as it is too large and there is public access to the park throughout. The only exception is the road access to the car park. Competitors should follow the west exit from the carpark to the start (50m) and should return straight to download after finishing their first race.
PLEASE NOTE ALSO
Power lines are not shown on map
‘X’ symbol on the map is used for both play equipment and bench
Some routes use roads with light traffic, take care.
The wet summer has contributed to summer vegetation and there are nettles in some areas of woodland.
The champonships will be staged at Crieff's MacRosty Park. The park was donated to the people of Crieff in 1908 by James MacRosty, 4 other areas were added later and they retain their names; Taylor park, Mungall park, Morgan’s wood and Recreation park. The Barvick burn, also known as the Turret burn, bisects the park and is crossed by two bridges. The river is marked as uncrossable, depending on rain it may be knee deep or a raging torrent. There is a mill lade through the park, also marked as uncrossable. Although not as deep or wide it is full of very soft mud.
Turretbank woods was purchased for the people of Crieff and is managed by the Crieff Community Initiative. At the southwest corner of the woods is the start of Lady Mary’s Walk, which runs alongside the river Earn.
The Organisers would like to thank Morrison’s Academy for Car Parking and Perth & Kinross Council for use of the Park and assistance with arranging the Toilets.

Pre event information
This will be a two-race event for all classes; each competitor will run race A, take a break then run race B. Each race will be based on the course length ratio in the SOA event guidelines, roughly 12 to 15 minute winning time for each race.
The results/champions will be based on the combined time from both races.
The start order for the second race will be the same as for the first race, ie there will NOT be a chasing start.

Safety and Risk
A comprehensive risk assessment will have been carried out by the organiser, but participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event.
Keep It Clean campaign - Forestry Commission Scotland
Our forests are at risk from tree pests and diseases. These can dramatically affect the health of our trees, upsetting the delicate ecosystem balance and devastating large areas of woodland.
Pests and diseases hitch a ride in mud and debris on shoes, paws and tyres, ending up in new forests. Here, they can spread rapidly in environments with no natural resilience.
