Duguids win British championship medals

Finn Duguid and Carl Duguid were medal winners on Saturday at the British Long Distance Championships in the Lake District.  Finn won the M18 title while Carl was 3rd in the M14 class.  

Finn was over 20 minutes ahead of the silver medalist with his time of 75m 05s for the 8.8km course once again beating the M20 title winner James Hammond (Forth Valley) who was running the same course.

Carl  was 8 minutes 59s down on the M14 winnner with his time of 63m15s for 4.5km

Two very different venues saw club runners take on some of Scotland's best age class orienteers at Aberfoyle and Limerigg.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility

The Scottish Orienteering community wants everyone to stay safe, feel welcome and have fun while taking part in orienteering. We all have a shared responsibility for safeguarding and creating safe, enjoyable environments in orienteering whether as an participant, coach, club official, volunteer, parent or spectator.

  

Finn Duguid write up

Tayside junior internationalist, Finn Duguid, get a write up about his orienteering world in this month's Compass Sport (Oct 2024).  Finn reveals in his interview that his favourite terrain is flat Swedish forest, his biggest achievment is 5th in the European Youth championships and his pre-race playlist is topped by Kickstarts by Example.

  

Liz makes it 100

Liz Fraser, a Tayside member who was in at the very beginning of orienteering in Perth, chalked up her 100th run at Perth parkrun on Saturday (12th October).

KINNOULL HILL has been designated as a possible area for a future national competition and the area has been embargoed until further notice. Going there, even for a walk, could make you inelligible to compete.
