Terrain description
A large mainly open area, with small pockets of woodland, Barry Buddon is located to the north of the mouth of the River Tay, between Carnoustie and Monifieth. It is generally very flat but with several extensive and complex areas of large sand dunes, making for very fast running but technically challenging orienteering.
Barry Buddon is an Army Training Centre, which is in very frequent use, and therefore access to and use of the area for orienteering is extremely restricted. Use of the map is only possible with prior permission of the Army.
Barry Buddon has hosted two Scottish Orienteering League events and Day 5 of the Scottish 6 Days 2009.
