Active Schools Orienteering in Dundee

Over the past year I have been working as Regional Development Officer to support Active Schools in Dundee

This started with some training in Camperdown Park last year around introductory orienteering activities that the team could deliver over the lockdown periods. 
During the latest lockdown we have supported further skills development and now have a pool of 4 coordinators who are dab hands at using free orienteering software. They have used purple pen to draw up courses, open orienteering map  to set up street based orienteering challenges and postbox challenges and Maprun to set up virtual orienteering courses. 
There are now almost 30 courses that can be accessed by anyone in Dundee. Quite an achievement. If you fancy having a go - check out their link with all the downloadable maps.
Moving forward, the team have committed to mapping of schools and parks, setting up a local festival and developing coaching sessions beyond the school gates with continued support from Scottish Orienteering.
