Chasing Start Course 1 through the Heriot-Watt campus

Club members in good form in Edinburgh this weekend

Several TAY club members made the journey south to Edinburgh Southern OC's 50th Anniversary weekend races this weekend. On Saturday, the first race in the 2015 Scottish Urban Orienteering League took place on the intricate parkland and built-up area of the Heriot Watt University campus at Riccarton, while on Sunday, the focus moved to Dalkeith Park for a South of Scotland O League race (SoSOL).

Saturday's urban sprint race involved a prologue race and a chasing start race, where each runner set off at times behind the leader based on their prologue race time (and just to add to the physical and mental intensity, there were butterfly loops to contend with in the chasing start courses!). TAY results were:

Veteran Women: Elaine Gillies 15th overall (13th Prologue, 17th Chase)
Junior Men: Craig Sloan 12th overall (12th Prologue, 8th Chase)
Veteran Men: David Sloan 15th overall (16th Prologue, 14th Chase)

TAY results for Sunday's SoSOL race were:

Blue: Grahame Nicoll 27th, Mel Nicoll 51st
Green: Elaine Gillies 26th, Laura Nicoll 27th, Angela Dixon 35th
