Milnathort's Team 1 are the champions!
Congratulations to Team 1 - Sarah, Ailsa and Nikola - from Milnathort, who won the 2014 Perth and Kinross Primary Schools Championships Final today at Scone Palace. They put in a fantastic time to come well clear of Oozema Kappa from St Dominics, in 2nd place - both teams scoring a maximum 540 points. In 3rd were Zombies on the Run from the Royal School of Dunkeld, with Thunderbirds from Auchterarder and Chocaholics 2 from Luncarty making up the top 5. Altogether, there were 105 teams of 3 today - well done to every single one of you for your efforts!
Results from the 2014 Primary Schools Final are now available. These have been updated to correct a timing error from earlier today.
Prizes for the first three teams were generously donated by Mountain Supplies, Perth, as was the prize of rucsacs for a draw out of the hat to commemorate the 10,000th competing pupil, won by the Madderty team 'Chocolate Turtles'. Other prizes were generously donated by P&K Sports Development. Thankyou also to Mansfield Estates for allowing us to use the Scone Palace grounds again.
Tayside Orienteers would also like to publicly thank Dave Prentice for all his efforts in leading organisation of this and previous Perth & Kinross Primary Schools Championships - Dave has been instrumental in building up the Schools Championships and introducing so many children to orienteering . Thankyou Dave, and thankyou to all other club members who have given up their time to help run the Schools Championships series.
Our next orienteering event is at Kinnoull Hill on the evening of Tuesday 3rd June - we'd love to see some of today's competitors (and their parents!) come back for more orienteering! Keep checking the web site for more details.
