Perth and Kinross Primary Schools Orienteering - North East Championships

Newhill's Four Musketeers for the win!

The first of the 2014 Perth and Kinross Primary Schools Orienteering Championships was staged at the Belmont Outdoor Centre by Meigle on Monday 31st March. Over 100 children competed in teams of three in excellent conditions for orienteering. The winning team was The Four Musketeers from Newhill, perhaps a fitting reward to Newhill for the help they provided in organising the event. Second was The Purple Puppy Dogs from Abernyte and third was Penguins from Alyth. Abernyte achieved the distinction of 100% of their teams qualifying for the final at Scone Palace, especially creditable as P5 pupils were included in the teams to make up numbers. Congratulations to all teams who took part - the top 15 teams qualify for the final on May 21st at Scone Palace.

North East Championships Results.

Upcoming Event information

Entries open for Culteuchar SoSOL event

Details are now available and entries now open for our next event, a South of Scotland Orienteering League event on Sunday May 18 at Culteuchar, in the Ochil hills south of Forgandenny. This promises  to provide fast, open running on an area with (especially if the weather is good!) some of the best views in the South of Scotland.

Scottish Orienteering League Race 1 - Club results

The first race in this year's Scottish Orienteering League series took place yesterday in on of Central Scotland's best-known orienteering forests, Devilla Forest near Kincardine. Continuing their good start to the year, the best club results came from Grahame Nicoll  (4th M55, 8th overall on the Blue course) and Laura Nicoll,  9th W16, 17th overall on the Green course.

Scottish Urban O League Race 2 and SoSOL 3, Livingston

The club was well represented at the Interlopers' INTrepid Weekend - a weekend of urban and mixed orienteering in Livingston, including a Scottish Urban Orienteering league race on the Saturday, and a South of Scotland Orienteering League Race on Sunday. Maybe it was an issue of scheduling, or maybe it's just orienteering preference - but none of the members who ran on Sunday went to the urban race - and vice versa!

Scottish Sprints and Night Championships - Roll of Honour

Champions List from Tay's Perfect Perth Day Out

Congratulations to all our champions from the Scottish Sprint Championships and Scottish Night Championships 2014!

ESOC Sprint Championships, South Queensferry

Congratulations to Davie F and Elaine G who finished 3rd (SuperVet Men) and 5th (Veteran Women) respectively in ESOC's annual Sprint championships at South Quennsferry yesterday. The event was held on a brand new area, a mix of urban and parkland; and consisted of two races - a Prologue to determine running order for the chasing start final. Good preparation for next weekend's series of races!

Come and Try Orienteering in Crieff

Details are now available of our upcoming event taking place on the morning of Saturday 22 March at Macrosty Park in Crieff - with courses planned that are ideal for newcomers to orienteering of all ages, families and children. Members of the club will be on hand to help you get started and answer any questions you might have about orienteering. The park is right next to the town centre, so easy to get to by public transport.
